History of Bradbury Earlier, Bradbury was known as Sherwood Hills and is one of the popular suburbs of Campbelltown. In the 1960s, the area experienced large-scale residential development. The name was given after William Bradbury, a local innkeeper in the 1820s and 30s. In 1970, Manooka Reserve's area, also known as Manooka Estate, became part of Bradbury. The suburb is also said to be the location where Fisher's ghost appeared on a bridge post. This is the reason why the creek that runs through the suburb is named Fishers Ghost Creek.
